We've Joined the Club.

Well after nearly five years we have joined the Bailey Leak Club.

Just been up to storage and there is a slight leak from ( yes you have guessed it ) the roof join on the off side rear.

Have e-mailed dealer to see if we can get it sorted ASAP.

  1. Blimey Ian.There seems to be a rash of these.Going to check mine again. You would think this could be easily sorted by fitting a much wider watertight covering on the roof.Hope its sorted quickly.

  2. Bill, Yes it does seem to be Baileys Achilles Heel in an otherwise good van, looking at the design it may look satisfactory on a CAD screen but actually on a caravan being bounced and twisted on our pristine roads it is doomed to eventually fail.

  3. Sorry, Ian, but can you describe this picture to me please? I can see that the polystyrene is the sidewall/roof join, but what is the other thing? Is yours leaking water into the offside rear upper cupboard in the bedroom? I have already pre warned my dealer water pools on my roof, and that during the first service in June (assuming nothing untoward happens beforehand) I shall be looking for a complete strip and replacement of the roof joking strip. I have it in my mind that somewhere on CT it has been stated that Bailey have got some form of remedial replacement.

  4. Sorry to hear this Ian. A really poor design this. At least yours has failed under warranty so you will get it fixed. I know my dealer has done "a number" of these so far and will no doubt be doing lots more.
