Daewoo Microwave Bulb

Does anyone know how to replace the bulb in the Cadiz Daewoo microwave ?

I can see the bulb through a grille but can't find any way to get into it.

Have looked on the net and instruction book and can't find anything.

I can't believe you have to dismantle the thing ( which I would rather not do ) to replace a bulb.

  1. My Daewoo packed-up 2 weeks out of warranty.I removed, tried to repair and replaced it with a smaller microwave that can breath/ventilate in the space provided. The reason I mention this is its easy to remove.Underneath the cabinet are a number of stick-on covers that cover the fitting screws.Carefully peel them away(you can reuse)and undo the holding down screws. You can ease the microwave out.The unit is on a fairly long cable which pulls out of the microwave.Be careful doing this as you will be holding the unit which isnt heavy , just awkward; maybe cover the cooker to protect if it falls. When out you will see the cover holding screws which can be removed, the covers remove simply, Access to the inside is now visible.I think the lamp was accessible at this point. One word of warning.Even when disconnected the large capacitors ,I think to the right of the unit could be charged-up and are dangerous, do not touch them.If worried wear some rubber gloves. You should see the offending lamp and be able to change without touching the said capacitors. It should be a standard lamp.Reassembly is a reversal.Just take your time its easy enough.Well it always is when you have done it! The daewoo which they fit in lots of vans is in my opinion too large for the space and cannot vent when in use properly. But it fills the space and looks good.

  2. Correction to the above. The cable doesnt pull out .The cable feeds through the hole after unplugging in the side locker.Tight fit but dooable.
