Air To Spare Contd.

David Mantell hs finally got to the bottom of the Air To Spare problems in the following e-mail :-

Further to the Air-to-Spare website problem (apparently it will be corrected very soon), David Mantell has found exactly the same item is available on ebay  - but cheaper as it is p&p free on ebay!! - see:
This looks to be an incredibly useful item which makes it easy to check and adjust the caravans spare tyre from the comfort of side of the caravan (The spare is rather too easy to forget as it is tucked under the caravan and not easy to reach).

Many Thanks David.

A Couple More Winter Tasks

Went up to the van today for my weekly visit and to undertake one or two minor jobs that may prompt newer caravanners not to forget them.

First I checked the air in the spare wheel which is easy to forget,it needed quite a bit putting in so that got done.

Incidentally I have one of these permanently connected to the spare which makes checking the pressure a doddle:

Air To Spare

Have one on the car as well, saves humping the spare wheel out to check the pressure.

Secondly I checked for damp underneath around the perimeter with my cheapo damp meter and fortunately all was within normal limits..........................phew.

Thirdly, ran the Alde and the fridge on gas for a short while to clear the jets of any spiders webs etc.

Finally as it was a sunny day I gave the van a good airing, nothing appears damp so heres looking forward to the new season.

Comment Reply

As I still can't get the Comments replies to work, here is a reply to Lew Jack :

Welcome to the blog.
I must admit we have not had any problem with the width of the table,I suppose if they made it any narrower people would complain it wasn't wide enough.
We tend to use the pull out table when there is only the two of us but I wish it pulled out level with the front surface.I have seen this on other vans so it is possible.

There are a few tables on here which look narrower but oviously I haven't measured them.

Table Again

If there are any smart alec table relocators out there who were thinking "Ah perhaps it will fit under the other bunk" then I am one jump ahead of you,no it doesn't.

Went up to storage today and it is nowhere near,oh well back to the wardrobe but on the bright side £40 saved.

Table Movement contd.

I have received from Bailey a very comprehensive explanation as to why the table on the Unicorn 3 Cadiz won’t fit under the N/S bunk as it does on the Unicorn 4 and sadly has to stay in the wardrobe :-

Good Afternoon Mr Broadhead

Please see the information below received from our engineering team.

Subject: RE: U4 Table Storage Brackets

The table is exactly the same size on UN3 Cadiz as it is on UN4. The restricting part is the construction and size of the rear N/S bunk on UN3.
The distance between the support and bunk end on the Unicorn 4 is sufficient to allow the table to fit in between (see yellow arrow on image below). I don’t believe this is the case on Unicorn 3.

Secondly, the distance between the two fixing faces of the bracket is 523mm (see image below).  The internal measurement of the bunk frame on Unicorn 3 is 451mm, therefore it would not fit in this space.

Subject: U4 Table Storage Brackets

Hello,
Could you tell me if the Unicorn 4 Cadiz under bunk table holding brackets would fit a a Unicorn 3 Cadiz  table so I could move it from the wardrobe to store it under the nearside bunk as in the U4
Thank You,
Ian Broadhead
