Whilst whiling away the hours till our van comes back I decided to make a bit of a mod for the Aquaroll.
As most people do I usually find that the Whale pump in the Aquaroll tends to curl up and not sit on the bottom of the barrel.
Whilst wandering around a dealers at the weekend I happened on a piece of plastic pipe which I thought would just solve the problem.
Threaded the blue pipes down the pipe which I had cut to length and the pump should now sit vertically at the bottom of the Aquaroll.
Obviously not used it yet but will report back on its success or otherwise.
Apologies for it looking like a giant phallus.

Cracking Problem !!
A chap on Caravan Talk had a poorly fitting door on his Nov.2015 Cadiz and returned it to the dealer to be rectified.
After picking the van up post repair and returning it to storage he found this :-
and this on the inside :-
Needless to say it has gone back to Bailey to be repaired but I can't say I have heard of this before.
Dealer cock-up ??

It's At The Dealers.
Took the van to YC Leisure today for them to look at the leak and they agreed to keep it until they can squeeze it in to be fixed.
Credit to them as I think they had plenty of work on and could have asked me to wait.
The chap I was talking to said that yes it was a common problem and one that is recognised by Bailey who have produced an upgraded part to fix it that has a serrated surface which the sealant grips better than the original one but obviously Bailey are waiting until leaks occur rather than issuing a recall, very helpful.
In a way I am glad it occurred as it did as at least it was a smallish leak that will now be fixed, hopefully properly, which is better than a deluge of water coming through the roof in the middle of the night and soaking everything.
Thet have also agreed to put in a warranty claim for the faulty panel dis[play showing "8".
Just got to wait for it to come back now.

Cushions Back
The two front bench cushions returned today from Belfields having been restuffed,a pretty quick service.
Delivered to home but now that I have to take the van to the dealers on Friday not as handy as I originally envisaged.

Ingenious Alde Mod From Mr.Mantell.
David Mantell, one of my regular correspondents, has come up with an ingenious method of protecting the Alde flue outlet during pronlonged layups or over the winter.
The method is as follows :-
The method is as follows :-
It is a puzzle that Alde recommend covering the heater
vent when overwintering or long periods of non-use, but provide no means whereby
this can be done. Ian has put forward a straightforward solution using a bread
bag and elastic band - this is an alternative 'higher tech' solution which you
may wish to consider.
1. Buy a small square sandwich box from the pound shop -
mine is about 11.5 cm square x 6 cm deep and is marked as 0.6 litre. It is
important that the top edge of the base has been rolled over and hence has a
smooth top edge.
2. Discard the flat top (or use as a
coaster) and check the box fits over the vent with the
roll top edge against the caravan
3. Drill two small holes at the centre of the base and
about 40mm apart
4. Obtain a 'tie wrap' about 200mm + long and pass
through the box, around the centre vent (with the embossed Alde logo) and back
through the box
5. Take up the slack in the tie wrap up but do not pull
this too tight. This should then hold the box lightly against the caravan
6 When you need to use the gas heater, cut the tie wrap
and remove the box.
7. Place a warning notice on the Alde unit to remind you
to remove the cover before gas heating is used. SERIOUS DAMAGE WILL OCCUR IF
THIS IS LEFT ON WHEN THE GAS SYSTEM TURNED ON!
This looks like a good mod which I think I will give a go at.
One extra suggestion crossed my mind and that is instead of using a non-reusable cable tie you can get reuseable ones ( I've got some ) so getting away from using a new one every time.
Thank you David for your time and effort.

Just been up to storage and there is a slight leak from ( yes you have guessed it ) the roof join on the off side rear.
Have e-mailed dealer to see if we can get it sorted ASAP.
