Lights Again......................

According to this post on the CC forum Bailey have returned to conventional filament road lights.

I would have preferred LED lights but I can't say I blame Bailey really, too much grief with mis-matched tow cars.

Cadiz Leaks

There have been two reports, one on Caravan Talk and one on the Caravan Club forum of leaks occurring in the new Unicorn Cadiz.

Caravan Talk
Post#1903

On the second one after inspection by engineers from Bailey it was thought that contamination had got into the sealant, perhaps a leaf!!

Bailey needs to keep an eye on this,we certanly don't want a repeat of the Pegasus "wet lockers" saga.

Lets hope they are one offs ( well two offs ).

LED Lights Contd.

This is the reply I have had from Bailey regarding LED lights:-

To Ian,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

We are currently reviewing the use of LED road lighting on our Unicorn III range. As you may be aware, certain customers have reported experiencing concerns with their vehicle's on board light diagnostic system whilst towing their Unicorn III caravans fitted with LED lighting. This issue originates from electrical pulses emitted by vehicles' on board computer systems to conventional bulbs to check that they are working and appears to be an intermittent issue affecting certain models depending on their age and their specific manufacturer.

I trust that this has helped and thank you once again for contacting us.

Kind regards

Darryl Wandless
Customer Service Co-ordinator
Bailey of Bristol

So the LED road lights are "under review" at the moment.

Personally I can see Bailey dispensing with them as why go to the expense and trouble of providing "fixes" when ordinary bulbs will do the job without such problems but we will have to wait and see.

LED Lights No More ????

I have heard a whisper that Bailey are discontinuing the LED road lights on the Unicorn 3 range and reverting to standard bulbs from Build week 10 ( last week).

On hearing this your intrepid blogster has whipped off an e-mail to Bailey asking for confirmation or otherwise.

When I know you will know.

Van On Order.................Now The Wait.

We ordered a new Unicorn 3 Cadiz from YC Leisure in Bawtry at the NEC show in October.

Our previous Orion had served us well be we needed a bit more space and fixed beds,we decided on singles, but whoever gets the Orion will get a good van.

Got what I considered to be a good deal which was £1200 better than another quote we got.

We ordered a few extras :-

·       Tyron Bands and rebalance wheels
·       Weight Upgrade to 1550Kg
·       Phantom Pro 3 Tracker and alarm
·       Carabiner breakaway cable
·       Ten year body warranty
·       Quick release battery clamps.
·       Fridge Vent covers
·       Milenco Steady Pads

We also asked for some fixtures to be moved from the Orion to the Cadiz:-

·       Motor Mover
·       Swap jockey wheel for our pneumatic one.
·       Fire Extinguisher and Fire Blanket

I also treated myself to a Tyrepal head unit to go with the fitted wheel sensors.

The projected date for delivery was sometime in February but I expect this to be extended to March judging by the volume of orders Bailey seem to be taking.

I hope there is no problem with the LED lights that has been reported,we will have to wait and see.

Welcome to My New Blog.

Welcome everyone to my Bailey Unicorn Cadiz 3 blog.

After the welcome success of the Bailey Orion Blog ( 75,000 hits ) I hope this one is as successful.

It's a bit bare bones at the moment but I will get it sorted and looking a bit better over the ensuing weeks.
